Collection: Silk & Silkette Rugs

Silk gives a rug its finest detail and a sheen that changes with the light and the direction of the pile. Pure silk rugs are knotted at very high densities and are best in bedrooms, formal living rooms and on walls; wool-and-silk rugs use silk for highlights in a wool ground, giving luminosity with everyday durability.

What Silkette is. Many of the rugs in this collection are wool and Silkette. Silkette is not silk — it is a viscose-type fibre made from plant cellulose, with a similar sheen and softness at a fraction of the price. It is a beautiful material, and every product title tells you plainly which one you are looking at.

Silk and Silkette both need expert cleaning — never a steam cleaner. Ours are hand-washed in our Downers Grove facility.
