• Direct Manufacturer

We don't order custom rugs from someone else — we make them. Four generations of rug making, our own looms, and no middleman means you pay manufacturer pricing, get exactly the size and color you asked for, and deal with one family from first sketch to final delivery.

  • Any Size, Any Color, Any Design

Traditional, transitional, modern or plain. A 3×5 for an entry or a 22×32 for a great room. Wool, wool-and-silk, silk, alpaca or mohair. Bring a photo, a fabric swatch or just an idea to our Downers Grove showroom and we'll turn it into a rug that fits your room and nothing else.

  • Made for Chicagoland Homes and Designers

Homeowners and interior designers across the western suburbs and Chicago come to us when a stock rug won't do — the room is an odd size, the color has to match, or the design has to be theirs. We'll tell you up front which construction suits the piece and your budget: hand-knotted for fine, heirloom rugs; hand-tufted or hand-loomed for great value in larger sizes.

How a Custom Rug Is Made

custom handmade rugs for bespoke customers

Ideas and Inspiration

Bring your design ideas, a photo, or a rug you've seen and loved. We talk through size, shape and style — modern, transitional, traditional or plain — and what will work in your room.

Color & texture

Bring fabric, yarn or a swatch and we'll match it from a palette of over 3,000 colors. We choose the material together — wool, silk, alpaca, mohair — and settle the texture, finish, and whether you want fringes, no fringes, or hand-stitched edges. You'll see samples in the showroom.

Design & CAD Work

This is the step that matters most. We create a map of your rug down to the individual knot and email it to you. Change anything — simplify the design, add or remove colors — before a single knot is tied. Once you approve, your work is done.

Production & Finishing

Loom setup, map printing, and yarn assigned to the weavers. You get a progress update every week. Weaving, washing, shearing, hand-wrapping the sides, trimming the fringes — every stage done by hand.

Inspection & Delivery

Every rug is inspected and photographed before it ships. Local Chicagoland orders we deliver and lay ourselves; other orders ship by FedEx with tracking, usually 4–7 days. Ask us about a rug pad at the same time.

Because we manufacture directly, most custom rugs take 3 to 15 weeks depending on construction, design, size and quality. We'll give you a real date before you commit.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on size, material and construction — a hand-tufted wool rug costs a fraction of a fine hand-knotted wool-and-silk piece of the same size. Because we make the rugs ourselves, you're paying manufacturer pricing rather than a retailer's markup. Bring your room size to the showroom or call (630) 324-6567 and we'll give you a range on the spot.

Usually 3 to 15 weeks or more. Hand-tufted and hand-loomed rugs are at the faster end; fine hand-knotted rugs take longer because every knot is tied by hand. We confirm a date before you order and send you a progress update every week.

Hand-knotted for fine, heirloom rugs with the most detail and the longest life. Hand-tufted for a thick, plush wool rug at excellent value, especially in large sizes. Hand-loomed for flatweaves and textured low-pile rugs. We'll recommend the right one for your room and your budget — and we'll tell you if a stock rug from the showroom would do the job for less.
